alteration now would be inconsistent and would in all

probability meet with refusal.

There did not appear to be sufficient reason to

endorse the suggestion made by the Yee Tsoong Tobacco

Distributors, Limited, to make the use of the characters

ying shang optional and it was felt that any such

suggestion would be refused as its adoption would defeat

the object of the ordinance."
